Özgünaydin ́s practice is based on the tradition of performance introduced by Joseph Beuys accordinq to which life is drawn upon and translated in an ongoing process of experiential assimilation. As such the artist employs a wide range of media -self-portrait, performance, collages and video collages- to create a cultural space of references that reflect critically on the immediate society around her.
Social structure & cycle of life and death, bringing out compositions of opposites and against gridlocked principles. Breaking through intermediate spaces, boundaries, building bridges, gathering contrasts in order to create something anew, utopian and sometimes even ironically.
